Progress throughout the SouthEast Connector Project

Dear Stakeholder:

The project team has been steadily at work during the summer to ensure many key operations are completed by the end of the year. The roadway embankment in Rosewood Lakes Golf Course needs cement treatment and is then ready for pavement. The smaller, three-cell arch culvert extension at Mira Loma Drive is completed. During the fall, the team will temporarily divert Steamboat Creek so work can begin on the larger, six-cell arch culvert extension. Once this is completed, construction of the new Mira Loma intersection can begin. The 120-foot-long mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall at Huffaker Bridge is also completed. The project is on schedule for completion in spring 2018.

Rescheduled: Night Work at Mira Loma Bridge

Granite Construction will be pouring the second half of the southbound Mira Loma Bridge deck the night of September 13 beginning at 9 p.m. through 8 a.m. September 14.

Due to the summer heat during the day, night and early morning work is needed to take advantage of the lower ambient air temperatures, higher humidity and calmer winds that allow slower concrete curing which will result in a better, more durable structure. The project team will be monitoring noise levels; however, residents closest to the bridge can expect to hear some noise (comparable to a garbage disposal from 3-feet away).
