SouthEast Connector Project: September 2017 Flyover Video

Dear Stakeholder:

The project team has created the September 2017 flyover video showcasing Phase 2 construction progress. New features have been added including labeling each bridge structure and intersection. The video begins at the southern end of the project (Segment 1) at the current intersection of South Meadows Pkwy. and Veterans Pkwy. and concludes at the northern end of the project at the Greg St. and Sparks Blvd. intersection (Segment 4).

Major construction advancements since the August 2017 video include:

  • Increased earthwork in Segment 1
  • Continued construction of the Huffaker Bridge southbound deck
  • Paved southbound deck of the Mira Loma Bridge
  • Completed expansion of the three-cell arch culverts at Mira Loma Drive

This Weekend: South Meadows/Veterans Parkway Intersection Closure

The project team will be closing the South Meadows Parkway and Veterans Parkway intersection for two separate 12-hour Saturdays.

The first closure will occur Saturday, September 30 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The team will be milling and adding temporary striping. The second closure is scheduled for Saturday, October 21 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for minor utility work and paving. Remaining work on the intersection will be finished under traffic controlled lane closures and traffic switches. The closures are planned to occur on Saturdays to not interfere with school schedules.

Detours for both Saturday closures will be in place. Standard traffic will detour to Double Diamond Parkway and Carat Drive. Truck traffic will detour to Double R Boulevard and Steamboat Parkway.
