SouthEast Connector Project Honors Nevada Veterans

Dear Stakeholder:

The SouthEast Connector project team thanks our local servicemen and women this Memorial Day by supporting the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza Project. The project will honor the legacy of our fallen soldiers through the construction of a Memorial Plaza to be located at the corner of Greg Street and Veterans Parkway (SouthEast Connector).

Though not directly correlated with one another, the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza and the SouthEast Connector projects will both honor and preserve our veterans since Nevada’s statehood in 1864. As part of the SouthEast Connector project, the new Veterans Memorial Bridge and the multiuse path will showcase a timeline and aesthetic features representing Nevada’s military history. The Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza will honor the current 834 fallen men and women and future service members from all 17 counties.

As part of the Plaza’s design, engraved commemorative bricks can be purchased from anyone in the community. Granite Construction Company has committed to purchasing a brick as well as individual members from the project team including RTC Project Manager, Garth Oksol and Granite Construction Project Manager, Brian Roll.

To learn more about the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza or to purchase a commemorative brick visit nevadaveteransmemorial.org.
