June 2018 Flyover Video
The project team has created the June 2018 flyover video showcasing Phase 2 construction progress. Each video begins at the southern end of the project (Segment 1) at the current intersection of South Meadows Parkway and Veterans Parkway and concludes at the northern end of the project at the intersection of Sparks and Greg Street (Segment 4).
Major construction advancements since May’s video include:
- Multi-use path embankment graded near Huffaker Bridge
- Falsework removed from northbound structure of Huffaker Bridge
- Completed soundwall on Mira Loma Bridge
- Poured median on Mira Loma Bridge
- Mira Loma intersection completed and open to traffic
- Striped lanes in Segment 3 (through Rosewood Lakes Golf Course)

Southbound Sparks Boulevard Closed this Weekend
Southbound Sparks Blvd. will be closed from I-80 to Greg St. beginning June 16 at 7:00 p.m. to June 17 at 7:00 a.m. for striping operations for final alignment with the new Veterans Pkwy. (SouthEast Connector roadway). Traffic will detour to McCarran Blvd. and Vista Blvd. Drivers needing to go north from Greg St. will still be able to use Sparks Blvd.
SouthEast Connector Sneak-Peek Event
The RTC is planning a community-wide pre-grand opening event and road preview with a fun run, walk and bike event scheduled for Saturday, June 30. The road is anticipated to officially open to traffic on Friday, July 6. More details will be available soon at SouthEastConnector.com, RTC social media pages and in the weekly project stakeholder update.
