SouthEast Connector Project Hosts Summer Camp Group

RTC Project Manager, Garth Oksol, demonstrates moment force in structural engineering.

The group learns about design features of the Huffaker Bridge.

Dear Stakeholder:

The SouthEast Connector project team partnered with the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) College of Engineering Summer Camp this week to conduct an engineering field day. The summer camp group consisted of middle school and high school students interested in learning more about a career in engineering.

After giving a presentation describing project features, the project team hosted the group at five locations throughout the project highlighting environmental, structural, earthwork, utility and traffic aspects.

“It’s important to prepare students for their future,” said Garth Oksol RTC Project Manager. “Activities like this provide them with memorable career education”.
