SouthEast Connector Project: Winter Weather Update

Dear Stakeholder:

Due to heavy rain and snow, water is ponding at the SouthEast Connector project.  This is anticipated as the project is being constructed in a flood plain.  Allowing water to pond on the flood plain reduces the possibility of flooding at other locations in the community.  Equipment has been moved to higher ground and continual monitoring of the project site is taking place. Members of the community are urged to monitor the forecast and contact law enforcement if their properties experience flooding.

As a working day contract, the overall timeline for the SouthEast Connector takes poor weather into account and the project remains on-schedule for late 2017 completion.

The colorful patches show areas of flood water storage capacity, and through natural drainage, excess waters will drain toward Steamboat Creek and into the Truckee River.
